Recital Scheduling

Students must initiate the recital scheduling process no later than one month prior to the pre-recital hearing. By adhering to this timeline, students can ensure ample time for planning and organizing their recital without any last-minute rush.

  1. Review the Recital Policy.
  2. Begin by consulting with your applied faculty member to establish the timeline for your recital. Collaborate with them to determine the following:
  • Recital repertoire
  • Committee make up
  • Recital time, date, and location (please refer to the Productions Calendar). You must select two recital dates/time (one as the first choice, the second as backup)
  • Pre-recital time and date (must be 3 weeks prior to the recital dates selected)
  • Optional if faculty member plans to be at attendance: Dress rehearsal times/dates/location (one as the first choice, the second as backup)
  1. Check with the other committee members to ensure their availability for the pre-recital hearing date. Attendance for these committee members at the recital are optional.
  2. Once you have received verbal approval from all committee members, fill out this form:

IMPORTANT: If you fill out this form before discussing the dates with your committee members, this will likely delay your scheduling process.

Approval process:

  • Student Submits Request
  • Associate Dean Approval of Committee Members
  • Primary Faculty Member Approval of Dates
  • Productions Office
    • Schedule spaces.
    • The productions team will also assign your pre-recital hearing location. On the form, please indicate any specific requirements you have for the space or if you will be conducting the pre-recital hearing in your professor’s office.
  • Committee Member 2 Approval of Dates
  • Committee Member 3 Approval of Dates
  1. Once the approvals are completed, the advising office will notify you and your committee with the formal reservation times, dates and locations. It is still your responsibility to ensure the committee is aware of the times, dates, and locations of your pre-recital hearing and recital.
  2. Complete the Facilities, Performance, and Production Team’s Information & Arrangements Form at least two weeks before the recital date. Failure to do so may result in the student’s requests not being accommodated. It’s crucial to submit the form on time to guarantee that all recording needs are adequately met for the recital.
