Committee for Equity and Inclusion Arts Access Initiative

The University of Oregon School of Music and Dance is proud to present CEI’s Art Access Initiative, an innovative program from SOMD’s Committee of Equity and Inclusion aimed at enriching the student experience through the power of music and dance.

This initiative provides free concert opportunities exclusively for SOMD students. These concerts showcase premiere performing arts organizations in Eugene and Portland, offering students access to world-class performances and artists.

What to Expect:

  • Inspiring Performances: Enjoy concerts that celebrate diverse voices, cultures, and perspectives, showcasing the power of music as a force for connection and understanding.
  • Renowned Artists: Experience world-class musicians and ensembles committed to advancing DEI through their art.
  • Engaging Opportunities: Deepen your appreciation for music while exploring its role in building an inclusive and equitable community.

How to Redeem Tickets  

  1. Check Available Events: Events are posted at the start of each term. Visit this page to see which shows offer tickets.  
  2. Pick Up Your Tickets: Tickets are available about 1 week before the event, first come, first served. Students are limited to 2 tickets per event and 1 event per school year. Pick-up locations may vary, so be sure to check details carefully.  
  3. Complete the Survey: If you successfully redeem tickets, you’ll be asked to complete a quick survey at ticket pick up.  

After You Get Your Tickets 

  1. Attend the Show: If you no longer can attend the show, please give your tickets to a SOMD classmate or return them to the original pick-up desk. 
  2. Follow Up After the Show: You’ll receive a short survey after the event. Feel free to share a selfie from the show!
